Raytheon’s Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED) provides engineering design, integration and production to a wide range of hardware in Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The Platform Integration Department leads mechanical design, development and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility development & site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration and production support. Program Chief Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities: Own, manage, maintain Technical Baseline control for all contracts Manage Engineering execution to cost, schedule, technical requirements Liaison with engineering organizations for acquiring the applicable skilled resources Provide technical guidance to Program Managers Provide technical advisory disposition for EXIM (Export/Import) compliance Review and approve program technical artifacts (e.g. Configuration Control Board, Risk & Opportunity Management Board, Parts & Materials Control Board, etc) Mentor and lead CPT leads and junior engineers Work in coordination with the Program office to interact with customer and end-user representatives in developing system requirements U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Required Skills: Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of Systems or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline Knowledge of Hardware and/or Systems development life cycle and development processes, methodologies, and tools Demonstrated track record of developing customer relationships to fulfill their needs and ensure their satisfaction and continued business Ability to work across business areas, manage diverse tasks, requirements, and commitments and interface successfully with numerous disciplines Ability to knock down barriers, remove roadblocks, and negotiate change Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities Experience with MS Office Suite Earned Value Management certification or equivalent experience Able to work within a large team and communicate with internal and external customers Willing & able to travel domestically and internationally to support customer reviews Desired Skills: Experience with Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems or Radar Systems Experience in concept of operations development and/or design of system level architecture Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing Experience with the development and coding of system models, and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance Experience in security features and/or vulnerability of various operating systems Experience working with Matlab, C/C++, Java, or DOORS Experience with identifying and managing risks and opportunities Knowledge of and ability to work within the Agile Scrum development practice Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills Previous military service MS or PhD in Engineering, Science or Mathematics Active DoD Secret Clearance or greater Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
