Job Summary:

RMD has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join the Short and Medium Range Ground Based Air Defense (SMGBAD) team within the Land Warfare and Air Defense (LW&AD) Mission Area. The SMGBAD portfolio is a complex portfolio with direct P&L responsibility as well as Product Line requirements with annual revenue around $1B. The portfolio consists of domestic and international contracts, all contract types, and all phases of the product lifecycle. This position is in a fast paced, dynamic, and challenging environment with an emphasis on skills in forecasting, large data analysis, and leadership communication.

This position is being offered in a hybrid capacity (remote or onsite) and is based on the needs of the business. The person who gets this role will need to be able to support teams and programs across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Assist in period-closing activities and facilitate the weekly/monthly cadence across SMGBAD for inputs, reviews, and on-time submittal of deliverables to LW&AD FP&A

  • Support accurate and timely analysis of financial performance, key metrics (bookings, sales, profit, and cash), elements of cost, and provide early identification and communication of issues impacting financial performance

  • Help coordinate the SMGBAD R&O process, driving predictability and accuracy

  • Provide support to SMGBAD Balance Sheet, Overhead, and Investment activities including Capital projects, IRAD projects, NBI spending, CFRs and ARs

  • Help drive the schedule for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) activities to meet the LW&AD deadlines

  • Drive efficiencies through process improvement and grow FP&A best practices across SMGBAD

  • Influence and collaborate with matrixed teams, functional peers, and leadership

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Program Controls or related areas of finance; OR advanced degree and 3 years of professional work experience

  • Experience with FP&A concepts

  • Experience with SAP suite of tools, including APEX/AO or similar systems

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
