Scope of Position:
The Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for the definition, development, reporting and communication of key metrics and insights to better serve our customers, both internal and external. You will be joining an exciting, newly formed analytics center of excellence for the Corning Life Science division. Our mission is to add value to the business by driving key metrics, analyses, and insights for all areas of the business globally including, but not limited to, sales, marketing, manufacturing, customer service and operations. A successful candidate will have a track record of fully owning business intelligence projects end to end starting with collecting and driving requirements through communicating insights with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, they will want to dig deep into available data sources, the business processes that generate it, as well as the tools and techniques to advance the way that Corning Life Sciences capitalizes on data. This role will lead a team of professionals, provide day to day supervision, manage team objectives and structure projects for on-time and on-budget delivery.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Drive the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive critical business decisions
Make recommendations for new metrics, analysis techniques, and strategies to improve business performance and better serve our customers
Define the data elements and data structure required to enable reporting
Contribute to operational best practices for business reporting to allow the team to scale
Prepare and deliver analyses and insight reviews to senior leadership • Work with IT, the data warehouse, external data partners, and self-developed databases to enable the appropriate capture, storage, data visualization and analysis of key data elements
Enable effective decision making by identifying, retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable structure and format
Define and drive continuous improvement activities to increase engagement with our Business Intelligence Platform

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
- Standard business hours; Monday – Friday.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Finance, or related discipline
Required Years and Area of Experience:
5+ years’ experience in data, analytics, and/or business intelligence
3+ years people management experience including day to day supervision, managing team objectives and structuring projects for on-time and on-budget delivery
3+ years’ experience with SQL or other similar relational database query language
Experience in Python or similar languages is preferred
Experience with Microsoft PowerBI
Proficient with data discovery / statistical analysis tools
Proficient with MS and Oracle SQL
Experience with data visualization and tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
Demonstrated understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts
Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with IT, data subject matter experts, Data Engineers and other Analysts to mine the right data sources efficiently and accurately
Experience displaying complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and presenting findings clearly and concisely
Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
Excellent organizational skills including prioritization of multiple concurrent projects while still delivering timely and accurate results
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or another quantitative field
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, etc.
Experience with data generated by SAP and/or working with SAP products
Ability to break down complex problems into smaller deliverables that add value
Experience with Agile project management
