Saint Gobain Performance Plastics Molding Operator I in Taunton, Massachusetts
Job Summary The Molding Operator will set-up, operate and maintain direct form molding presses and tools. Adhere to work order while maintaining high safety standards. Complete required measurements and documentation, and assure parts meet all customer quality specifications. Strive for continual improvement of workspace 5S. Responsibilities are: Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, actively demonstrate SG principles of conduct & action, and adhere to all EHS requirements Read work orders to understand and meet customer specifications Set up molds and maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer?s instructions Maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances Keep a clean work environment in accordance with company policy and procedures Contribute ideas and suggestions on improvement opportunities Follow instructions and procedures carefully Record data, record and report problems as they arise Report defective material or equipment problems to lead or engineer, as directed Successfully perform all duties above for minimum of 18 months Perform complex troubleshooting with little or no supervision Contribute to the team by performing other duties as needed Required Qualifications To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required. High School Diploma or equivalent Have at least 6 months experience in manufacturing environment Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken Must perform intermediate math operations, including use of decimals, fractions and S.I. units Must have basic computer knowledge and ability to navigate PLC operator interfaces (touchscreen) Must perform measurements using Vernier calipers and digital scales PLC Troubleshooting preferred Knowledge of proper safety procedures Effective verbal/written communications skills and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a self-directed team setting and ability to solve problems Must have strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
