SUPERVISOR: Tim Brown WAGE SPREAD: : $23.22 to $27.72

JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS:

Position Description:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US per ITAR requirements

  • Responsible for physical, mechanical, electrical, and chemical testing of materials, compounds, wire, fiber cable and cable assemblies; record and disseminate test data and testing programs and maintain clear documentation of work.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance to UL, CSA, Mil DTL, ICEA, ASTM Specifications and Standards

  • Responsible for all test lab equipment set up, including physical test, metric balances, aging, environmental chambers and related test fixtures, chemical analysis, high voltage, dc resistance bridges, capacitance bridges optical test, flame room, smoke chamber, furnaces, mechanical testers, dimensional measurement devices.

  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures, 5S activities and participate in continuous improvement events.

  • Must always maintain work area in a safe and orderly condition.

  • Ensure that all products meet specifications and the requirements defined by the Prysmian Group Quality Management System.

  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines

  • May require working overtime

Education:

  • Associate of Science in related technical field and/or equivalent industry experience Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English

Experience:

  • Some manufacturing lab experience preferred

  • Two years’ experience as an Engineering Technician

  • Knowledge of test & measurement system functionality

Skills/Attributes:

  • Read and interpret test procedures and specifications from industry, military, and customer specifications.

  • Perform mathematical and other necessary calculations using calculator or computer as most appropriate.

  • Develop work habits and job knowledge to performed with minimum supervision.

  • Must be able to work independently according to verbal and written instructions

  • Must be proficient in computer skills (Office and SAP)

  • Must have above average math and reasoning skills

  • Must develop and maintain proficiency in required job skills

  • Must be capable of lifting or moving 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting or moving 75 lbs.

  • Must be able to distinguish different colors
