Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health Facilities Assistant Manager in Stockbridge, Massachusetts

The Facilities Assistant Manager supports the oversight of general maintenance of our campus. This includes inspections and maintenance of our heating and plumbing systems, as well as general cosmetic improvements to the facilities and grounds. This role will be responsible for the purchasing and tracking of inventory against the annual budget and the prompt and accurate payment of vendors. This role also supports the team ensure all Maintenance requests and repairs are done in a time professional manner. Candidates must be available to be on call on a rotating basis and respond to campus and system emergencies on off hours. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Prior oversite of staff, with responsibilities coaching and providing feedback Computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel Budgeting and expense tracking experience Experience with Permitting and building codes and partnering with applicable agencies. Basic mechanical ability for operation and repair of equipment including hand and power tool skills HVAC maintenance experience Plumbing experience including repairing faucets, drains etc. Basic fabrication skills Valid Driver's License with clean driving record Prior snow removal and plow experience a plus MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS High School or equivalent- additional trainings and certifications related to construction, project management or facilities operations a plus Minimum 5 years' experience Maintenance or Construction field with two overseeing staff Experience with Permitting and Building Codes VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE OSHA Certification HVAC License or Certification Pool Operator certification Bi-Lingual PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods Ability to climb stairs Ability to work in hot, cold or wet conditions as needed Accountabilities Oversee daily operations of facilities team and lead in absence of Facilities Manager Lead, coach and inspire Facilities Team fostering the team dynamic. Maintain paperwork required for the department in coordination with other departments. This can include invoice tracking, JHA's and SOPs for Facilities teams and processes Create and oversee the Safety responsibilities and trainings for the team Ensures all safety measures and PPE are being utilized by the team in each of their assignments Supports the hiring process for facilities and grounds Track Facilities and grounds yearly budget, and assist in purchasing, and inventory control in cooperation with the Facilities Manager and Grounds Supervisor to insure competitive pricing.
