System One Regional Electrical Engineer in Springfiled, Massachusetts

Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience, to join world-class firm in their East Coast Team, NJ, MA, NY, PA, FL. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Electrical Engineer, to join our team and with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff from one of the best-qualified consulting firms in the country.

Get involved in a variety of Municipal & Industrial Water/Wastewater and Water Resources infrastructure projects. This engineer will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge in electrical engineering for W/WW, transportation / infrastructure, power distribution, data centers, emergency power, lighting, panel layouts, P&ID’s, and Instrumentation & Controls systems, along with a proven reputation for leading and executing projects and managing clients, to help build and grow our practice. Role accountabilities:

  • Accountable for Electrical Project and/or Task Management and Client Management in the planning, design, and construction of electrical systems for Water/Wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations.

  • Meeting established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Work’s directly with clients to determine needs and provides solutions.

  • Coordinate’s execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager.

  • Develops large electrical design projects from inception to completion.

  • Prepares complete construction packages (including deliverables such as electrical schematic diagrams, and one-line diagrams) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical systems for clients.

  • Prepares packages for the procurement of electrical equipment (including equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, and transformers).

  • Performs detailed engineering calculations and analysis. Utilizes design software to solve complex issues.

  • Creates and manages cost estimates and project schedules and will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.

  • Performance-driven and client-focused with strong written/verbal communication skills and an impressive work ethic.

  • Project leadership and management experience including demonstrated experience leading and managing small to large size projects.

  • Assisting teams in the marketing and proposal phases of projects across business lines including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets for various W/WW and stormwater projects.

  • Supervising and supporting the work of others across the region while mentoring junior level engineers and technical staff.

    Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall experience with 4 years in electrical design directly in a Water Wastewater engineering consulting firm.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • W/WW Treatment facility electrical equipment installation and wiring experience, 480 vac 3 phase

    Key Skills and Attributes

  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

  • Client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience.

  • Experience with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

  • In-depth knowledge of a National Electrical Codes (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.

  • Must possess excellent, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.

  • Technical experience with coordinating electrical engineering and design activities, (i.e., normal power and emergency-standby power supplies, lighting, and motor control systems design; including schematics, as well as troubleshooting plant electrical and I&C issues; on-site and remotely) with the experience managing project work from start to final closeout.

  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems is highly desirable.

  • HV line and substation distribution is highly desirable.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 years of electrical design experience in an engineering consulting firm on Water/Wastewater projects.

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or an MBA.

  • Must have PE Professional Engineer.

  • Basic to Proficient skills with AutoCAD. Design/Build project experience.

  • Experience with SKM Power Tools and Arc Flash studies.

  • Understanding of process control systems and protective relaying - PLC, HMI software, and applying PLCs, HMIs, Ethernet switches, E-Stops, and plant process instrumentation for plant automation.
