American Outdoor Brands Corporation Precision Component Specialist in Springfield, Massachusetts

Position remaining in Springfield MA

Responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received for Forge, Finishing and Heat Treat external customers. Pack the goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels and ship documents to ensure that all orders have been filled correctly. Verify incoming shipments by scanning barcodes to store the information in SAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Packing and unpacking of shipment deliveries, pick/pack/post in SAP Conducting serialized receiving and shipping in SAP to meet compliance standards Preparing shipping documents. Maintaining records of inbound and outbound shipments, inventory levels, heat lot integrity, metallurgical reports required by customers, order delivery due date status Consolidating shipping orders Creating mailing labels, shipper request, purchase orders, packing list, material certs, heat treat or plating certs or any inspections required by a customer Ordering packing supplies Coordinating with department team leaders, external and internal customer needs as well with the Precision Components Sales team Working in SAP to make goods and inventory movements for external customer Scheduling freight pick up and shipments Verifying incoming/outgoing information, counts, weighs, or measures items and compare against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Routing parts through Forge, Heat Treat, Finishing and ShippingNOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive. Education and Experience:

High School/GED Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment; Forge, Heat Treat or Plating experience preferred Minimum requirement 1-3 years in the following: Shipping Receiving Mailroom Basic experience and knowledge of supply chain managementCompetencies and Skills:

General knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment, assembly or precision components Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy Ability to work successfully as part of a team Flexibility to address potential issues off-schedule if needed Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (verbal instructions, written memos and instructions) Must be able to perform basic visual and dimensional inspection using instruments such as vernier, caliper, micro-height, MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection), hardness test device, etc. Microsoft Office and SAP experience required DOT forklift certification (or acquisition of certification within 30 days) Valid Driver's LicensePhysical Demands:

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floorThe use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
