The Investment Policy Consultant plays a key role in supporting the retention and growth of managed assets on the Wealth Management platform in MMLIS. This position requires the investment policy consultant to work with our partners in the field; including Advisors, local supervisory teams, investment specialists and agency management. We support the field by helping them identify and resolve existing and potential investment policy rules issues and providing the field with consultative operational and investment support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, understand, and problem solve complex issues related to investment policy violations

  • Acquire and maintain expert level knowledge of all programs and procedures

  • Consult appropriate resources and identify customer focused resolutions compliant with regulatory guidelines

  • Deliver the highest level of service to the field and internal clients

  • Aggressively manage and resolve investment policy violations

  • Responds to complex questions from internal and external customers regarding program guidelines

  • Conducts needs based training sessions with advisors and agency staff

  • Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture perspective


  • Is motivated to understand the “why” behind a situation, has exceptional time management skills, and a strong sense of ownership

  • Has the flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment

  • Critical Thinking: thoughtful process of analyzing data and problem solving data to reach a well-reasoned solution

  • Ability to partner effectively to drive our culture and execute on our common goals

  • FINRA Series 7 and 24 required

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)An understanding of the financial services industry in order to make sound business decisions

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Business, Finance, Economics or Mathematics

  • 2-5 years of experience in large corporate environment, preferably Financial Services


  • Option to obtain additional licenses: Series 4, Series 52 and Series 53

  • Exposure to multiple business areas within MMLIS and MassMutual

  • Option to work on special projects both ad-hoc assignments within the team and partnered with various business units

  • Additional training as appropriate to career development and exploration
