The Strategic Service Partners (SSP) team works to support large scale relationship management of Third Party Administrators accountable for end-to-end service and administration of operational support functions. The primary intent and purpose of this team is to ensure overall effectiveness of the relationship(s), ensuring the desired outcomes are achieved (which may vary by partnership). The team is committed to providing a consistent client experience across relationships and is focused on delivering a degree of consistency in the operational model defined to support MassMutual customers. We are seeking talented professionals who are comfortable working in a small, high caliber team comprised of a combination of relationship managers, business consultants and specialists. We continue to assess opportunities to further enhance our third party supplier support model such that we deliver the quality outcomes desired. With annuity new business process simplification in mind we have recently made the decision to re-align the Fixed Annuity NAIC suitability support model to Strategic Service Partners within the Insurance Operations Organization. The benefits of this re-alignment will include simplification in processes that will enable us to further enhance our focus to deliver continued improvements to the end customer for all annuity products.


The role of the Fixed NAIC suitability team is to review against a pre-defined set of criteria whether the annuity sale is deemed suitable for the prospective client. In this role, individuals will interact directly with both internal constituents (SSP team members), third party personnel (se2) and external customers (advisors, agency staff and prospective clients) in new business case issuance, problem solving and process improvement. This role is key in the fixed new business submission value stream, which will require a sense of urgency, attention to detail, ability to problem solve and a willingness to interact directly with the end customer selling (and purchasing) fixed annuity products.

  • Assists in the daily management of submitted new business inventory

  • Collaborates with team members and business partners (both internal and external) on problem escalation/solving

  • Supports analysis, revision and implementation of business processes and procedures

  • Identifies and makes recommendations based on research and collaborates on ways to approach operational solutions

  • Seeks to raise the bar on the service experience delivered to the end customer, operating with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Acts with urgency, and ensures expectations are set and delivered against

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Series 6/26 desired

  • FINRA NRF will be required post hire

  • Annuity experience preferred
