Olympus America Inc. Product Manager, Neurosurgery Video Microscope in Southborough, Massachusetts
As a Product Manager working on the Olympus Orbeye Video Microscope team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by helping grow and establish the video microscope business, work closely with thought leaders in the neurosurgical community, and create strategies to accelerate the paradigm shift to the video microscope or exoscope technology in surgery. In a typical day, you will:
Work closely with the commercial sales team on clinical evaluations and surgeon and administrator interactions.
Develop and execute marketing programs and material to drive platform adoption.
Drive franchise strategy with all internal functions and stakeholders to ensure excellence in execution.
Maintain responsibility for the day to day tactical management of the product portfolio; primary responsibility will be for the Neurosurgery and Neuro-spine product solutions and value proposition communication.
Focus on the tactical execution of the established short term financial and product strategy for the neurosurgical market.
Provide input in the creation and manage the execution of the strategic marketing plan for the Neurosurgery segment (multi-year and annual) which includes identifying the strategies, tactics, programs, and initiatives and their spend, to further expand our market leadership position and meet company-wide financial expectations.
Manage and develop relationships with Neurosurgical MD product champions and HCP consultants who will help to influence broader market acceptance of existing products and validate potential emerging market opportunities and trends.
Create and Initiate marketing programs and communication plans to increase awareness and product interest amongst the Neurosurgeon community.
Maintain responsibility for the launch planning and launch execution of additional imaging filters for neurosurgical applications including but not limited to IC-Green Near-Infared and 5-ALA and establish launch requirements for Narrow Band Imaging filter.
Collect and provide feedback on product and market performance to Olympus upstream and Sony partners to establish best practices for 4K 3D video technology.
Establish and execute a strategy to manage video anthology of Orbeye case videos #Developing strategies for workshops and educational programs for the neurosurgical community.
Field work with sales to provide technical support and establish best practices, build customer relationships, and assist in closing deals and in servicing of installations.
Maintain an expertise as the \"product and clinical specialist\" by attending neurosurgery procedures, courses, tradeshows, and literature reviews.
Create marketing collateral and tools to support the selling process, and implementing sales promotions to achieve specific business segment and company objectives.
Monitor market trends that may impact the business such as competitive activity, procedural/market growth, reimbursement, and emerging technologies.
Product line forecasting and communication with operations management to ensure consistent supply of quality product.
Work with sales training to develop the content and tools to support training events.
Perform all other essential duties as directed.
Bachelor's Degree is required with concentration in Marketing or Business; MBA is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years in Product Management, with minimum of 2 years in Medical Device, preferably in medical sales.
Minimum of 3 years of high tech medical device and/or capital marketing required.
Minimum of 2 years of neurosurgery and/or spine experience is preferred.
Ability to travel 30-50% (including internationally).
Proven history of successful medical device product launches.
Successfully developed HCP relationships.
Demonstrated product management of high tech medical device and/or system.
Strong clinical competency and analytical skills.
Ability to strategically plan and tactically implement.
Ability to project a professional image and strong leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self motivated, confidant individual with outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Results oriented individual with track record of meeting established goals and expanding market share.

The Product Manager, Neurosurgery will have primary responsibility for managing all downstream marketing of our emerging Video Microscope business specifically for the market share growth within the established neurosurgery, neuro ENT and neuro-spine microscope market. The incumbent will have direct responsibility for all versions of the platform marketed in various surgical market segments (Neurosurgery, Neuro-Spine and Neuro- otology). The Product Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of all downstream programs, promotional and market plans, internal and external trainings and best practices for the neurosurgery applications of the video microscope business.
