This position is a member of the External Products Design Solutions (EPDS) team that will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of all procurement activities and discussions related to a New Product Introduction projects (NPI) including Distribution Agreements and provide a communication focal point between the project team and associated suppliers. The NPDI Associate will be responsible for a smooth handoff to the appropriate Finished Good buyers as product launch approaches ensuring system accuracy of all key purchasing parameters. The NPI Associate will work in a matrix organization reporting directly to the EPDS Manager.
Perform as an extended team core member of the NPI project team throughout the project life cycle
Serve as a primary focal point and liaison between suppliers and project teams.
Ensure a clear understanding and communication of requirements between suppliers and project teams.
Directly responsible for ensuring the timely availability of goods and services throughout the project life cycle (e.g. prototypes engineering builds validations launch etc.).
*Initiate required follow up and provide updates to the appropriate team members.
Ensure total compliance to OSTA Purchasing Policy and OSTA Quality Management System.
Provide accurate data to Project teams for smart and efficient decision-making.
Directly supports EPDS Manager in conducting RFX’s placement of purchase orders for goods and services and maintain proper documentation for status updates during project status reviews.
Ensure a smooth hand off to the material buyers at product launch.
Directly responsible for creating and placing purchase orders related to project expenses.
Support the resolution of purchased price variances Accounts Payable discrepancies receiving discrepancies resulting in NCR and SCAR for goods and services related to NPI projects and sustaining Supplier Management activities on a timely basis.
Cultivate good relationships with suppliers in an effort to get the best value possible for OSTA.
Contribute to total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction efforts and promotes communication across functions to identify and drive common policies and best practices to achieve cost reductions.
Ensures compliance with FDA GMP ISO and Corporate Quality System regulations.
Adheres to established company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate degree is required.
Minimum 2 years of Procurement experience in the Medical Device Industry required.
Strong problem solving skills and analytic skills required.
Bachelors preferred preferably in business, engineering, purchasing or supply chain.
Experience in NPI environment is highly desired.
CPM APICS is preferred. Oracle experience is desirable.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must have strong negotiation skills
Must be able to collaborate and work well within cross-functional teams.
Ability to interact and work with a wide variety of people and departments.
