Senior Sensory Scientist

The Senior Sensory Scientist will be an integral part of the R&D Fragrance & Sensory team reporting to a Global Manager and part of a growing sensory science team.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Provide technical sensory leadership and serve as subject matter expert on home fragrance sensory projects

  • Apply scientific knowledge to design, plan, and execute sensory projects utilizing established and innovative testing methodologies and process

  • Explore and implement new research methodologies, and continuously improve operational efficiency

  • Accurately and consistently records experimental methods, materials and results in a sensory database

  • Analyze data using statistical principles, evaluate results, form conclusions and implement process improvements/recommendations

  • Communicate sensory reports and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to cross-functional and senior leadership team

  • Provide appropriate sensory trainings to internal panel to strengthen internal capabilities

  • Define sensory objective and strategy to support short- and long-term innovation initiatives

  • Lead benchmarking activities for key formats to understand competitive advantage and opportunities

  • Stay connected with the industry and up to date on new sensory research techniques

  • Setup and improve CSC sensory program, sensory research and current sensory testing capabilities

  • Support and advice in recruitment and maintenance of all trained CSC panel

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in an appropriate field with a focus in Sensory Science (preferred)

  • 5-7 years research applications experience with previous experience in the consumer science, sensory and/or fragrance industry is an advantage

  • Proficient using Sensory software, Statistical software, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Word

  • Strong background in statistics and ability to apply statistical principles to sensory data

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Expertise in a broad range of sensory techniques
