We are seeking a hands-on dynamic Assistant General Manager with a strong hotel operations background to join our team. This role will be responsible for the day to day operations of the hotel with an emphasis on associate and guest relations, development of people, financial results and quality assurance.   • Recruit,interview and hire associates for assigned hotel(s)/Meet regularly with GeneralManager and Human resources to review staffing, morale and any disciplinarysituations/investigations

  • Assistin new associate orientation andonboarding

  • Trainand support all associates and ensure performance in accordance withestablished hotel brand/Colwen standards

  • Adhereto all Colwen and brand standards

  • Compliancewith Federal & State Labor laws

  • Ongoingreview of staff to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures

  • Participatein monthly reward and recognition meeting /celebrate hotel and associateachievements

  • Establishand maintain open collaborative relationships with direct reports, team membersand partner General Managers and Assistant General Managers

  • Coachand support hotel team to effectively manage occupancy, rates, wages andcontrollable expenses

  • Oversightof housekeeping and engineer functions

  • Assistin oversight of Sales, Marketing, Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Guestservices

  • Tourand inspect property on a daily basis and monitor for property cleanliness,safety and security, product quality and exceptional service throughout

  • Identifyareas of concern and develop strategies to improve performance

  • Recognizeservice issues and trends. Facilitate creative solutions to overcome obstaclesand insure continuous guest satisfaction results

  • Participatein sales and marketing process as well as ongoing community involvement

  • Maintaina strong knowledge of local market(e.g.: demand generators, competitor strategyand community impact/involvement opportunities)

  • Activeparticipation in budgeting and forecasting to maximize hotel revenue andprofits

  • Performtechnical and administrative duties, including, but not limited to; Profit andLoss Statements, Analysis, Yield Management, Capital Planning and Payroll

  • Ongoingfinancial reports review to analyze budget, revenue and profitability targetsand take action as needed

  • Balancecost controls with exceptional customer service and associate satisfaction


  • 2 +years minimum experience in hotel operations management at a stylized/lifestyleor full service branded property

  • PreviousMarriott experience highly desired

  • PriorFood and Beverage experience desired

  • Demonstratedpassion and sense of urgency in the achievement of results

  • Excellenttime management skills, strong leader of people

  • Attentionto detail and highly organized

  • Mustbe self-motivated and results oriented

  • Willingnessand ability to train and develop associates

  • Creativeproblem-solving skills

  • Familiarwith common computer software programs

  • Mustbe willing to work varied hours including evenings, weekends & holidays
