Position: Project Architect

Location: Boston, MA

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Architect to manage the documentation process from Design Documentation to Construction Administration. This role involves advising on construction techniques, interpreting CDs, processing shop drawings and submittals, and collaborating with the Project Manager, Project Designer, and principal-in-charge. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical skills and CA expertise to contribute to academic projects currently underway and starting construction in the greater Boston area.

Responsibilities:

• Issue design sketches and communicate daily with CM/GCs.

• Mentor junior team members and provide technical advice on projects.

• Investigate, evaluate, and recommend design solutions to meet project and client needs.

• Ensure thorough knowledge and compliance with State & Local building codes and referenced standards.

• Provide technical guidance to junior staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.

• 8+ years of experience in academic (K12 and Higher Ed) architecture

• Proven experience in managing client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation with project consultants.

• Proficient in interpreting, communicating, and presenting design intent to stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Proficiency with MS Word & Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe, & Bluebeam (required).

• Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, or other MEP coordination software (preferred).

• Proficiency with Newforma, ProCore, or other construction project management software (training available).
