JOB TITLE: Engineering Technician 1 st Shift

DURATION: 12 Months (Temporary / Contract)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for providing primarily hardware configuration and testing support in the manufacturing and final testing, and continuous improvement of medical device products, specifically, mobile CT scanners. This work includes the assembly small and large parts for complex electromechanical equipment including, precision alignments and complex final alignments using CMM arms on systems with live electrical power. The Engineering Technician will help ensure that hardware & software project documentation is compliant with established procedures and may support new product/process development activities. These activities include troubleshooting of system failures, creation of rework instructions, and assembly and rework of systems.

Responsibilities: • Assemble and test small and large parts for electromechanical equipment, including precision alignments such as tilt & wag, lasers, tube & collimator and DMS. • Responsible for complex final alignments using CMM arms, working on systems with live electrical power present and utilizing safety measures for CT scanning and radiation of x-ray equipment. • Troubleshoot and diagnose electromechanical equipment machines, including PCBs, PCs, motors, lasers, belts, brakes, generators, batters, X-Ray tubes and actuators. • Assists in performing verification and validation testing, hardware and software related projects. • Execute all levels of system configuration changes to facilitate testing to detect hardware issues, track software defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues • Conduct software/firmware compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments. • Identifies, analyzes, and reports problems with program function, output, online screen, or content, and test system modifications to prepare for implementation. • Maintains meticulous test logs, tracking issues associated with system performance, and communicating with the concerned team members and leadership team. • Develops accurate reports and documenting test results for various stakeholders and for inclusion in the Design History File. • Provides feedback and recommendations on specific features and designs to developers on software/firmware usability and functionality and participate in formal and informal reviews to determine quality. • Support image quality testing, final production testing, system final assembly & pairing, and other functions in need of testing support. • Performs in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product in accordance with quality system procedures. • Maintain and perform equipment and facility preventative maintenance. • Works with engineers and technicians to resolve line issues and suggests improvements. • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime, including but not limited to weekend work. • Works in accordance with quality system procedures. • Provide feedback and redlines on manufacturing work instructions, layouts, and equipment. • Works under some supervision. Independently determines, develops, and applies solutions. Exercises independent judgment about priority of tasking. • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent. Qualifications: • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the medical device industry or applicable experience. • Analytical – comprehends complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to solve problems. • Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in both group and individual problem-solving situations. • Test Support – hands on; familiar with the use of handheld multi-meter, hand tools, pin gauges, CMM arms, measuring devices such as digital calipers and torque drivers. Technical Skills - assesses own strengths and weaknesses; pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others. • Communication – develops a working relationship with the software development team, manufacturing engineering team, design team, project managers, and other relevant parties; works well in a team. • Preferred knowledge in Microsoft Office. Must be able to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities in fast-paced environment. • Must be able to learn and absorb product knowledge quickly and efficiently • Must be able to communicate effectively via phone and email. • Light work: Exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force

Hours:

7am – 3:30pm
