Job Title: Painter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with identifying steel shapes, using measuring devices, and tracking multiple piece orders. Strong communication skills are essential. This role involves unloading deliveries, identifying materials, moving materials to designated spots, and cutting materials to length using a band saw.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming deliveries with side loader, fork lift, and/or overhead crane.

  • Identify and check material against bills of lading and purchase orders.

  • Move materials to designated spots.

  • Load conveyor per individual project requirements.

  • Cut material to length using a 38” band saw.

Essential Skills

  • Experience identifying steel shapes.

  • Proficiency in using rulers and measuring devices with whole numbers and fractions.

  • Ability to count and track multiple piece orders.

  • Good communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Blueprint reading.

  • Housekeeping skills.

  • Safe operation of tools and equipment.

  • Care and proper upkeep of personal and company tools.

  • Ability to think independently and know when to ask for further advice or assistance.

  • Desire and willingness to be cross-trained for other positions.

  • OSHA 10 certification (required before starting).

  • Hot Works certification (required before starting).

Work Environment

You will report directly to the shop every day in Rowley, working in a team-oriented environment. This role involves using various tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
