Basic Function of the Job:
The role provides internal communications support for Iron Mountain’s Data Centers and GLEAM businesses, and Iron Mountain’s Global Functions.
The role works with the Senior Manager, Global Communications and other members of the Global Communications team to develop and implement internal communication strategies, key messages, materials and channels in support of specific programs and issues.
The role is part of the global Internal Communications team, delivering internal communications solutions that support the company’s overall strategy, are consistent in their quality and delivery, and measurable in their results and impact.
Scope of the job:
Provide internal communications support and advice for Iron Mountain’s Data Centers and GLEAM businesses, and for Iron Mountain’s Global Functions.
Global Functions include Global Business Services, HR, Legal, Finance, Global Safety, Risk & Security (GSRS), Commercial, Global Technology and Global Real Estate.
Provide internal communications support for the company’s inclusion and diversity activities.
Work closely with other communications leads and resources to ensure the company’s global internal communications strategy and approach are implemented consistently across the Global Functions.
Support initiatives and programs that measurably improve employee engagement and the overall effectiveness of internal communications at Iron Mountain.
Provide internal communications support for Iron Mountain’s Data Centers and GLEAM businesses, and for Iron Mountain’s Global Functions.
Support senior leaders in Data Centers, GLEAM and the Global Functions to communicate strategic priorities effectively and to maintain high levels of visibility, engagement and trust with their employees.
Develop toolkits and other internal communication guidelines that enable other leaders to communicate effectively and self-sufficiently.
Provide effective change communications support and counsel for change and transformation initiatives within Data Centers, GLEAM and the Global Functions, or for initiatives led by these functions that impact the wider company.
Ensure company-wide initiatives and campaigns are communicated effectively and consistently in Data Centers, GLEAM and the Global Functions - with an emphasis on support for the company’s inclusion and diversity activities.
Work with colleagues in Data Centers, GLEAM and Global Functions to elevate and amplify success stories and best practice with the rest of the company through global communication channels.
Ensure the global internal communications team’s editorial, content and channel approach is implemented consistently and effectively across Data Centers, GLEAM and the Global Functions.
Produce internal communications content that consistently reflects the company brand and tone of voice.
Support the delivery of activities to measure employee engagement and the effectiveness of internal communications – including annual/pulse surveys and focus groups.
Experience and capabilities:
Native or fluent English speaker – other languages are an advantage
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience – ideally with a bachelor’s degree in communications/PR, journalism or marketing
Good relationship and stakeholder management skills - able to work confidently and effectively with senior leaders, and SMEs on projects and campaigns
Good business acumen - can quickly understand how each business unit and function works, and their key priorities
Good internal and change communications skills - including knowledge and experience of communication planning and execution, message development and measurement
Strong writing and editing skills - able to turn complex material into simple and compelling content that reflects Iron Mountain’s tone of voice
Proactive self-starter - can work quickly, flexibly and accurately on multiple projects under pressure and to tight deadlines, independently and as part of a team
