DePuy Synthes, The Orthopaedic Company of Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting a Senior Manager, Global Platform Communications, located in Raynham, Massachussetts or West Chester, Pennsylvania. There may be potential for other locations within the U.S.

This role will be supporting two of our most exciting platforms and working with our team of communications and orthopaedics experts to further our strategic communications efforts as we continue our evolution to an orthopaedic MedTech company.

This critical role supports the overall global Communications function on behalf of the Trauma, Extremities, Craniomaxillofacial, Animal Health and Spine businesses. This includes building a deep understanding of the businesses, market opportunities and therapeutic areas to inform and support the development and implementation of compelling and strategic global communications plan in support of business objectives.

This role will serve as a valued counselor to the worldwide platform leaders and their respective global commercial and North America regional teams and work in close collaboration with functional and regional colleagues around the world across DePuy Synthes global communications, J&J Medical Devices, and Johnson & Johnson, in addition to partners in Investor Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Finance, Supply Chain, and more.

This individual must be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple internal and external partners to consider.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong executive presence and the confidence and ability provide expert communications counsel to business leaders. The position will independently lead project teams of agency professionals on both an ongoing and as needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Support communications function for global Trauma, Extremities, Craniomaxillofacial, Animal Health and Spine businesses, working in close collaboration with franchise, Medical Devices, and overall J&J communications partners.

  • Develop and implement global external strategies and tactics aligned to Franchise priorities, coordinate with regional and priority country plans and measure progress and impact.

  • Serve as a day-to-day communications counselor and function liaison for platform leaders.

  • Increase positive share of voice and improve reputation on behalf of platform through execution of coordinated communications plan, including:

  • Engagement plan and thought leadership opportunities and platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Industry Meetings, Community and Giving Events).

  • Direct-to-consumer and direct-to-customer campaigns, spanning across earned and paid targeted print, broadcast, online, and social media channels.

  • Act as media spokesperson as required and prepare official company statements and coach spokespeople for media interviews.

  • Build excitement for global innovation story for platforms:

  • Amplify platform narratives to engage and inspire cross-functional teams & collaborate closely with enterprise partners to amplify

  • Create surround-sound global communications to ensure understanding of our science and pipeline.

  • Highlight information on key data and pipeline advancements via publications and global medical meetings.

  • Lead with an innovative approach to content creation and storytelling

  • Drive uptake for new product launches through:

  • Surround-sound communications plan and global playbooks to share key messages on product.

  • Promote new product introductions, medical evidence and Innovation communications.

  • Drive consumer and professional educational campaigns around disease states or new product features or improvements, as the need arises, in partnership with marketing.

  • Drive platform employee alignment, engagement, and inspiration through outstanding executive and organizational communications and initiatives.

Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Skills to build authentic relationships and trust with internal and external partners required.

  • Strong written skills required.

  • Experience leading global communications efforts required.

  • Ability to measure business impact for public relations programs required.

  • Ability and experience supervising agency partners and overseeing budget required.

  • Experience leading multiple priorities in complex, fast-paced environments required.

  • Experience with external, commercially driven communications (i.e., media relations, product communications, branding) required.

  • Experience with internal communications (i.e., employee engagement, executive communications) required.

  • Social media savviness and experience required.

    Preferred:

  • Consumer and patient-facing communications experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability as a strategic communicator, with minimum of 5 years of experience required (10 years+ experience preferred).

  • Prior work in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consumer health fields preferred.

  • Current or previous experience working in highly regulated environment and a demonstrated understanding of regional health authorities preferred.

  • Able to translate business objectives into communications programs that achieve measurable results.

  • This position may require up to 10-20% domestic and international travel
