$70/hr - $85/hr

A leader in the medical devices and robotics industry is seeking a multi-faceted, talented, user-centered Senior Human Factors Engineer who is driven to make people's quality of life better through compelling, elegant, and intuitive design experiences.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, Cognitive Sciences or equivalent studies

  • At least 4+ years of direct experience working in Human Factors and/or usability engineering

  • Experience establishing Human Factors Engineering processes, including research, planning, risk assessment, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience and track record of negotiating and influencing stakeholders to improve overall business effectiveness and function

  • Ability to lead teams towards solutions and gain buy-in from multiple levels of stakeholders

  • Knowledge of the IEC 62366 standard and the FDA guidance on human factors engineering

  • Working knowledge of the ISO 14971 and IEC 62304 are a plus

  • Medical Device product development or experience working in a highly regulated industry is a strong plus.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience working on robotics or medical devices

  • Ability to translate high-level plans and goals into actionable insights and plans for teams to follow

  • Influencing HF/Usability Strategy and leading Human Factors, UX, and Design strategists on a globally dispersed team

  • Serving as a subject matter experience in your area and helping guide others towards a common vision

  • Network and cultivate relationship with key external and internal stakeholders to ensure cross-functional decision making is occurring
