Communications and Outreach Coordinator COVID-19 Vaccine Outreach, Awareness and Education The position is responsible for coordinating outreach, awareness, and education efforts to increase vaccine access for people with disabilities. With funding and partnership support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through the Administration for Community Living, the Council is undertaking efforts to ensure vaccines are equally accessible to the disability community. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, this position serves as the Communicationsand Outreach Coordinatorfor theMDDC,an independent funded by the federal government towork with the state of Massachusetts to better support people with developmental disabilities and their families. This opportunity is a full-time, contract employee position through September 30, 2022. It is the Council’s intent to continue this position beyond September 30, 2022 as per its organizational plan. However, continuation is subject to available funding. Position is telework eligible subject to established agency policy and Executive Director approval. -Recommend marketing and social media strategies to the Director, implement approvedstrategies, and direct projects and campaigns for community and public awareness programs. -Oversee content and use of agency social media platforms, provide oversight to staff regarding agency social media activities, monitor social media postings, document activities, collect and report data and outcomes. -Manage and maintain the Council’s website content. -Develop focused publications, products and materials that are user friendly and culturally appropriate. -Serve as editor for agency communications, including publications, press releases, and other public information/awareness material being disseminated externally. -Implementdata-gathering instruments such as surveys, opinion polls or questionnaires, andconductinterpretation of results. -Develop and maintains effective communications with various agencies, grantees, media outlets, colleague organizations, and other external stakeholders. -Oversee development of the Council’s Annual Report to the Citizens of the Commonwealth. -Assist in the completion of the Annual Federal Program Performance Report -Support and work collaboratively with the Council’s Membership Services Coordinator on Council events and functions. -Represent the Council at state and national disability organization conferences as assigned. -Perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE -Bachelor’s degree with a major in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field, with five years of experience in a related capacity. Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing or public relations can be substituted for a degree. * Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations * Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics. * Demonstrated skill in external communications, public and media relations, social media, and presentations. * Experience with website management, and email marketing platforms * Experiencein using online tools, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram * Strong analytical skills. * Ability to work independently, meet time-pressured deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and priorities in meeting the demands of the position. * Ability to write professionally, clearly, and succinctly. * Ability to effectivelycommunicate bothorally and in writing. * Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams on PC platform. Other preferred qualifications Include: -Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with community, government agencies, media, business, and industry. -Skills in data analysis and interpretation -Video editing and photography -Knowledge of Section 508 document accessibility requirements, creation of accessible documents using Adobe Acrobat, and video captioning.
