General Summary of Position:

The Shipper/Receiver works with the rest of the Purchasing team to ensure product is shipped to customers in an accurate and timely manner. He/she also is involved in receiving goods shipped in from vendors as well as returns of goods from customers. They may assist the inventory administrator with inventory control functions such as cycle counting and periodic physical inventories. Also responsible for maintaining adequate levels of supplies needed to perform their functions and keeping their work area in a clean, safe and organized state at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for transporting inventory between buildings and replenishing stocking levels at remote storage locations.

  • Responsible for receiving all packages at assigned areas and verifying contents of each.

  • Responsible for notifying appropriate parties when goods have been received.

  • Responsible for sending packing slips for all packages to Purchasing team.

  • Responsible for packaging up all equipment to be shipped to customers, including creating & printing shipping labels for each location and including necessary documents within each box.

  • Responsible for selecting the appropriate shipping method for a customer based on the turn up date and urgency of equipment.

  • Must transport all packages to designated shipping area by 6:00 pm each day.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of all inventory transactions resulting from receipts and shipments.

  • Ensure appropriate service levels for shipments are selected to meet expectations of sender.

  • Maintain inventory of all shipping supplies and order new supplies as needed before supplies run out

  • Responsible for providing package tracking information to individuals when requested.

  • Responsible for maintaining clean & organized shipping and receiving areas

  • Job requires repeated lifting of up to 50 lbs.

  • Job requires a valid MA driver’s license as part of responsibilities will involve driving a company van.

  • Other duties as required by Management

Required Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work 9:00am to 6:00pm
  • Ability to use a personal computer
  • Ability to Multitask

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree.
  • Data entry skills.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel.
