Provides customer service and operations support to broker/dealers, bank trust companies, third-party administrators, clients and other users of the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) services. Provides information on NSCC services, procedures, and status of transactions. Responds to inbound phone call inquiries from back-offices. Resolves NSCC rejects and processes transactions on DST applications as applicable, researches general inquiries and performs quality control
Responds to a variety of inquiries regarding services, procedures and status of NSCC trades. Works with back-offices and internal groups and fund groups via phone and email to resolve NSCC items.
Handles processing of manual trades (purchases, redemptions, exchanges and orders) taken outside of the NSCC system as directed by clients.
Following specific fund cutoff guidelines, enters trade estimates for trade rejects requiring price protection.
Handles account updates and account or trade research requests received via phone and email.
Works with other NSCC associates or other departments to resolve each request.
Responsible for processing NSCC work for a specific client assignment. Able to provide backup servicing for the NSCC client base.
Reviews incoming requests and determines appropriate action; prioritizes requests and responds to or resolves problems, escalating to management when necessary.
Provides first level quality assurance review of specific transactions.
NSCC knowledge preferred but not required.
Some prior customer service experience preferred but not required.
Skills and Abilities
Able to follow directions and procedures specific to mutual fund clients and intermediaries.
Analytical, problem-solving, and follow-through skills are required for processing complex and varied transactions, researching information, and finding solutions to pending items and discrepancies.
Organization and attention to detail are required in order to process sensitive transactions in a timely manner.
Able to communicate clearly and concisely through email and phone for the purpose of responding to internal and external requests and clarifying account and trade information.
Able to access and navigate various technology applications, such as SharePoint, to retrieve client and procedural documentation.
Able to prioritize a wide variety of tasks to meet strict deadlines.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to review the work of others.
Adheres to department quality standards.
Able to communicate time-sensitive issues with outside departments.
