Kelly Services Beverage R&D Technician in Quincy, Massachusetts
Kelly is hiring a Beverage R&D Technician for one of our clients in Quincy, MA.
Pay: $25-30/hr
Temp to hire (conversion around 3-6 months)
Entry level role for recent grads looking to become a Scientist
1st shift 9am-5pm M-F
Develop new beverage products for companies like Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks!
-Syrups
-Sauces
-Juice concentrates
-Alcohol
-Coffee
50% of the role will be operating heavy machinery and the other 50% will be bench lab work. It takes about 3 months to learn the machinery.
Job Summary:
As a Beverage R&D Technician at Kerry, you will play a pivotal role in our research and development efforts for innovative beverage products. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, including lab management, pilot plant operation, sensory evaluations, and collaboration with various departments to support our beverage development process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and pilot plant.
• Operate and maintain equipment in the pilot plant for beverage production.
• Prepare samples for both internal and external evaluations.
• Conduct shelf-life studies to assess product stability.
• Perform sensory evaluations of beverage products.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the company.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
• Culinary background and relevant experience will also be considered.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent sensory evaluation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced R&D environment.
