The Vehicle Software Team Lead is the Project team lead for vehicle software development.Duties and Responsibilities:• Directs day to day enterprise activities and guidance as well as any overhead or loan activities assigned by or coordinated with the Functional Manager• Create a positive, energetic work and team environment.• Encourage and develop direct reports so they advance in their technical expertise• Participate in and/or lead Peer Reviews, Design Reviews, and customer meetings as needed• Take pride in hands-on contribution and do not hesitate to participate as an individual contributor when needed• Demonstrate the ability to be creative and innovative and assist in developing unique, differentiated solutions to complex problems in a continuous improvement environment• Ability to develop direct reports as well as cultivate the strength of the team• Responsible for the development of design and documentation standards and practices• Manages team performance and engagement through direct interaction, support, and mentoring.

What you will do

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

What we are looking for

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

  • Must have active secret clearance #LI-MH1

Bonus Points for

• Strong programming ability in C/C++• Familiarity with Linux and/or VxWorks operating systems• Experience with open-source robotics development tools• Experience with Data Distribution Service (DDS) and Robot Operating System (ROS)• Familiarity with microcontroller programming or NVIDIA Jetson embedded platforms• Experience with one or more of the following:o Sensor processing (LIDAR, image processing, stereo cameras, RADAR)o Kalman Filtering as applied to GPS/INS or IMUso Localization, Mapping, SLAM
