Position Overview

The best Lean Manufacturing Quality Engineers know how to ensure a company’s products and processes meet established quality standards. They have the expertise to identify shortfalls, develop corrective measures, and build and implement quality control systems. Their greatest skill is having the ability to influence all partners to operate in a zero-defect culture. The results of their work are evident in the creativity regarding continuous improvement of production processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Improve product quality and processes by investigating, designing and implementing process improvement plans.

  • Reduce waist and costs through process and design improvements

  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis, using problem solving tools to address customer concerns and complaints and performing corrective and preventive actions to respond to customer concerns.

  • Support production teams by reviewing quality data and assisting production teams on identified improvements.

  • Implement and train on six sigma, and other quality initiatives.

  • Incorporate engineering knowledge in product and process development from a quality perspective.

  • Will contribute to the successful execution of high-performing, reliable, and safe production which keeps Hubbell a leading manufacturer of lighting.

Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineer)

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Quality role working in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience implementing lean six sigma and/or quality programs

  • A person committed to striving for lean manufacturing processes and/or six sigma initiatives

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus

  • Working with Union Personnel preferred but not required
