Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise. On this team, you ll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.

About the Role:

Ready to make a difference? BAE Systems is looking forSystems Engineeringto work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and testa novel Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV). Focused on delivering innovative solutions. As a member of this team you will:

  • Lead a team through the systems design process including conceptual development, physical design, support to procurement, assembly, engineering test, debug, integration, and support of product qualification.

  • Lead systems requirements management from CONOPS through production selloff

  • Have a deep understanding of principles and concepts that spread across all disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software) and the ability to apply those principles to unique systems for the underwater domain (UUVs, power systems, navigation systems, hull structures)

  • Develop test and verification strategies that help minimize program cost and technical risk

  • Design test and validation approaches to ensure the system fulfills its operational objectives and stake-holder requirements in its intended operational setting.

  • Work with customer and program leadership to coordinate, schedule, and ensure readiness to perform test events

  • Lead by example and be willing to mentor, coach, train, guide, direct and advise teammates

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical , Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience or Master s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience or PhD in with 4 years of relevant experience

  • Active Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain SAP

  • Ability to communicate and resolve challenging technical problems across a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve common goals and implement solutions.

  • Candidate shall also be able to work within a broader program team and or supplier(s) writing Statements of Works (SOW) and leading subcontractors

  • Travel to remote locations and out to sea and is required (10-25%)

  • Able to maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies and rules that includes open water testing.

  • Experience with DOORs, Cameo (Magic-draw) and MATLAB

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance along with SAP & SCI

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
