This position is the quality authority for the Peabody, MA site. In this role, the manager will be part of a cohesive team responsible for site level compliance. Further, in this role, the individual will be part of a cohesive team responsible for understanding and responding to product deviations, CAPAs, and Change Controls for all phases of manufacturing. The position uses expertise in Aerospace Manufacturing Standard Practices, FAA regulations and customer requirements. The incumbent will also support documentation, investigations and improvement initiatives within the manufacturing operation. Performs work that consistently requires independent decision making and the exercise of independent judgment and discretion; while leading a team of experienced Quality professionals, both hourly and salary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Functions as site compliance SME and ensure continuous site compliance through education of : RTX policies, global procedures, government regulations, and FAA guidelines to ensure compliance with external standards.

  • Oversee audits, audit program, and FAA inspections of this OEM/MRO facility, as well as, ensure responses these audits/inspections are timely and effective.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts through the monitoring of audit metrics

  • Further develop and maintain Quality System in compliance as it relates to RTX requirements, regulatory requirements for FAR145 site with Dual Certification, customer requirements, and 3rd party certifications.

  • Participates as a core team member in any corporate or quality inspections and leads cross functional teams to develop responses, tracking the commitments to completion.

  • Maintain the Quality Approved Supplier List (QASL)

  • Owns processes, standards, and plans for the implementation of minimum standards and utilization of tools and methods to ensure effectiveness of existing quality processes and sustain quality performance improvements.

  • Owns Quality Clinic and ZDP (Zero Defect Plan) program implementation and compliance for OEM and MRO products.

  • Reviews and reports quality data and determines if all products and processes are aligned with regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate and interact with various departments and levels of management to accomplish company objectives

  • Grow and Develop talent within the quality organization

  • Complete other tasks as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Experience managing teams

  • Experience with a Quality Management System, i.e. Lean, ACE, Six Sigma, etc.

  • Able to travel up to 20%

  • Must be Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quality or Engineering

  • Master’s degree and 7+ years of experience

  • Manufacturing environment

  • AS9110 experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience with FAA regulations

  • Special process proficiency with either any or all of the listed competencies: Hot Engine Components, Diffusion Coatings, Non-destructive testing, and/or Weld/Braze
