City of Woonsocket CITY ENGINEER in Not Listed, Massachusetts
The City of Woonsocket, Rhode Island is conducting a search for a City Engineer. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the City Engineer will assist in the administration of the Public Works Department by supervising the development and implementation of policies, procedures and operational plans, as well as in the documentation, record keeping and preparation required of all technical and administrative departmental reports. The person in this position will also assist in the planning and submission of the departmental budget, as well as work with other department heads on public works issues. This person will support the Engineering Division, providing technical expertise on all matters related to design and construction projects. To be considered for this position, the successful candidate must possess a State of Rhode Island Professional Engineers License or become a professional engineer within one (1) year of appointment. Qualifications also include a bachelor?s degree in Civil, Sanitary, Mechanical, or an Engineering curriculum from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of experience in municipal government with a concentration in high level public works administration. Certification as a Wastewater or Water Treatment Plant Operator is desirable. The City Engineer must be an effective communicator able to express his/her ideas tactfully in front of various groups of people.
