This role well suited for an ambitious professional looking for the next step in your career. As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Systems Engineering staff in the Point of Care business line for Siemens Healthineers, located at the Edgewater site in Norwood, MA. You will lead the staff of engineers that support new product development as well as on-market products. The department interacts with multiple engineering groups (mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and reliability) and POC product franchises.

This functional management role is expected to ensure staff skills, practices, processes, and tools are appropriate and will result in quality work and outcomes. You will be responsible for the performance management of the individuals in the group. You may participate in technical reviews for project milestones within the product development process. Oversight of progress on all projects is expected as often as is needed to ensure redirection takes place when needed and without significant project delays.

You will set an example and define the behaviors and initiatives needed to establish and maintain a systems-thinking based, customer focused, and collaborative culture. This role will require a variety of communication skills to both manage the group and to operate in a multi-project matrix environment.

  • You understand model-based systems engineeringmethodology and approaches.

  • You understand the engineering design process.

  • You have knowledge of complex medical diagnosticinstrumentation systems. Familiarity with blood gas, urinalysis, and other POCinstrumentation is a plus.

  • You are familiar with hospital point of care settings andphysician’s office laboratories; familiarity with the diagnostic testing needsof users in those settings is a plus.

  • You understand approaches to work breakdown,prioritization, resource allocation, problem solving, decision making, andinfluencing.

  • You are skilled in the leadership of system requirements,concept development, system design, error budgeting, system modeling, systemverification and validation, algorithm development, fluidic sequencedevelopment, and system integration.

Skills required for success inthis role:

  • BS or BAin science or engineering discipline; advanced engineering degree is a plus.

  • 8-10years in the product development field; experience within the medical devicedevelopment field is a plus.

  • Priormanagement of multiple technical professionals is required.
