Job Description
We are looking for an individual that is a team player with a good attitude and a desire to learn. The main responsibility of the position involves electrical repairs, familiarity with mechanical repairs would be helpful.
As part of the repair process, this person will be involved testing electronics, such as PCBs, consoles, frames, handsets, power amplifiers, extensometers, cable assembling, etc. Most repairs and testing will involve electrical subassemblies, but mechanical assembly repairs may be included.
This person will be responsible for managing customer and FSE (Field Service Engineer) product repairs (RMAs). The Return Material Authorization (RMA) process requires communication with customers and FSE's during the quoting and repair process and report status and progress. This individual must be well organized, detail oriented, team player, and able to multi-task. Our customers are the main focus.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, quote, repair, and test each repair to assure functionality.
Evaluate, quote, and discuss with customers the progress and status of repairs.
Requires the use of common tools; mechanical or electrical such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, micrometers, pressure indicators, and common tools/test equipment.
In the trouble shooting process, this individual will need to interpret and use engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and technical manuals when necessary.
Interacts with Warehouse and Logistics personnel to ensure timely shipment and proper packaging of items.
Responsible to plan and work within an expense budget and achieve or exceed the stated revenue and margin goals.
Plan and progress customer jobs with minimal supervision.
Be able to update job progress in the service database
Liaison with supply sources or other 3rd party repair facilities.
Recommends change to products or maintenance procedures to improve reliability, maintainability, and/or ease of operation.
Has the ability to document repair procedures.
Qualifications
Curious, willing to learn, not afraid of taking risks, high electrical aptitude and some mechanical experience.
Experience with mechanical and electrical hand tools and machine shop equipment.
Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions regarding operation and maintenance of equipment, and must read and understand design drawings, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
Enthusiastic, cooperative attitude and a team player.
Ability to juggle and track multiple repair jobs in various stages.
Familiar with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
Working Conditions:
Factory or Plant environment
There will be some exposure to grease, dirt, noise, and operational equipment.
Some lifting is required.
Education:
Graduate of a 2 year technical school or related experience.
1 - 2 years related experience preferred.
