We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role you will be responsible for managing a variety of quality related challenges as well as the continuous development, application and maintenance of quality standards and the quality management system (QMS). Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assuring Instron’s quality management system (QMS), is fully aligned with the ISO9001:2015 standard.

  • Driving failure analysis, corrective action/preventative action.

  • Coordinating the resolution of product quality concerns (process/customer).

  • Championing Continuous Improvement Process activities.

  • Supporting customers in 8D responses and regular quality resolution update meetings.

  • Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, and test documentation to ensure that applicable system and contract quality requirements are met.

  • Actively participate in regular quality review and improvement meetings.

  • Participate in customer visits, surveys, and audits.

  • Analyze customer complaints and field failures. Coordinate corrective action, follow-up, and reporting.

  • Assist in the resolution of supplier quality problems as needed.

  • Support resolution of quality issues both internal/external working with production and engineering teams.

  • Coordinate and perform internal audits as needed to identify and correct deficiencies.

  • Monitor and determine actions for first pass yield reports, scrap reports, and process audit reports.

The successful candidate will have a technical or scientific education, a passion for technology, and quality engineering experience gained in a manufacturing environment. Additional requirements include:

  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 requirements.

  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Result orientated.

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A positive attitude focused on understanding, anticipating, and responding to the needs of our customers, both internal and external to the department and organization.

  • Advanced MS Excel user, document control software, MS Access, and MS Office.
