Massachusetts Employer Production Manager 2nd Shift in Norwell, Massachusetts
The Production Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations. The successful candidate must be a proven leader and have extensive experience preparing and executing production schedules. The Production Manager, has strategic and tactical leadership responsibility and accountability for the following areas: melting, mass finishing, rolling, front of cell, manual and machine lathe, polishing, finishing and shipping. This position will lead on continuous improvement problem solving opportunities. She/he will be expected to meet / exceed new and existing customer requirements, meet / exceed operating objectives and fostering a safe and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities/Account abilities Production Manager will be a key member of the Operations? team and will be charged with: ? Extensive experience executing production schedules. - Managing, motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff. - Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal down time. - Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations. - Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team. - Developing LEAN work flow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality. - Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep our organization accident free. - Working effectively in a team setting. - Working proficiently with the ERP system to support all decision making. Qualified candidates will possess many, if not all, of the following: - Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment with a solid team building approach. - Ability to drive strategic vision and understand tactics necessary to achieve company goals. - Excellent leadership and motivational skills. - Lean Six Sigma certification preferred to best drive the methodology for both incremental and major improvement gains. - Judgment, initiative, and ingenuity to work independently towards ultimate objectives on very involved and complex jobs. - Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external resources. - Innovative Thinking: The individual should have the capability to generate new ideas and implement them within organizational limitations, as well as to take advantage of emerging opportunities as they arise. - Influencing Skills: The capability to work across the organization. The proven ability to build consensus and resolve conflict, as well as to clearly/concisely priorities among multiple opportunities. - Interpersonal Skills: Must have the demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships and know how to motivate and develop teams and individuals to reach their highest potential. - Four-year degree from an accredited university or two-year degree in a technical discipline with five years management experience. - 5+ progressive manufacturing leadership experience with at least 3 years? experience as a manufacturing Supervisor and a strong track record of achievement- - - 2+ years of experience with metrics, process capabilities, LEAN techniques, continuous improvement tools like Kaizen. - 2+ years of experience with computer problem solving using tools like 5 Why?s, Fishbone diagram, Value Stream Mapping.
