Saint-Gobain Research North America is looking for driven, talented, and energetic entry level researchers to join our current team. The Research Technician safely performs technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning processes, equipment and products. The selected candidate will be joining the Coated Abrasives R&D group in a position based in Northboro (MA, USA).
Supports engineers and scientists in the Coated Abrasives’ R&D team with their projects.
Executes and/or supports commercial and manufacturing support requests.
Manages and documents projects and tasks effectively with supervision.
Plays contributing role in lab management: safety, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks etc.
Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
Conducts hands-on experimental work with documentation as appropriate.
Oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with reporting software such as Microsoft word and excel
Demonstrated hands-on experimental work history
Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety operations
Ability to work with a diverse project team in an open and collaborative mode
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Problem solving by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps with support.
High School diploma or GED (demonstrated equivalent) with 1-5 years’ experience. Associates degree or higher is a plus.
