Saint-Gobain Research North America is looking for a driven, talented, and energetic entry level researcher to join our current team to perform engineering analysis and provide technical solutions to aid the development and improvement of Saint-Gobain products. Contribute to the growth of the group by enhancing our applications knowledge and effectively supporting new product development, testing and launches. The successful candidate will have the ability to work comfortably and flexibly in a diverse and fast moving environment.
Utilizes basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake specific tasks and projects with defined scope.
Carries small projects or studies through to successful completion. Guidance on project objectives and technical approach are provided but autonomous execution is expected. Projects involve the extension of present or new technology in one or more areas, involving improvement and/or development of processes, materials and testing techniques. Projects are assigned by supervisor and are several weeks to months in duration.
Supports senior engineers and scientists in R&D team with their projects.
Manages and documents projects and tasks effectively with supervision.
Take leading role in aspects of lab management: safety, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks etc.
Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
Conducts hands-on experimental work.
Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making.
Design and execute experiments for product and application development
Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience including but not limited to: demonstration of familiarity with statistical tools, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of basic data and interpretation.
Project leadership including project management, team collaboration, and oral and written communication skills are required.
Demonstrated basic knowledge in HSE.
Incumbent demonstrates ability to work with colleagues at various levels.
Develop understanding of company policies and corporate structure.
Respectful communication and ability to collaborate in a team environment required.
BS Degree in Material Science, Chemical engineering, Polymer science, plastics engineering, textile engineering or related discipline
