Responsibilities:

  • Review blueprints and specifications for a job

  • Calculate where to cut or bore

  • Experience programming conversational milling machines or lathes required.

  • Shape steel, aluminum, titanium, and other materials

  • Determine speed that material is fed into the machine

  • Select tools, processes, and parts for the job.

  • Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations

  • Position workpiece on a drill press, lathe or milling machine

  • Program machining center utilizing ProtoTrak software

  • Set up, and operate HURCO machines for the accurate machining of custom parts

  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces

  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs

  • Determine fabrication tolerance

Qualifications:

  • 5 years machinist experience required w/technical, trade or vocational schooling preferred

  • Experience with HURCO Machines desired, but not required

  • Experience with ProtoTrak Software strongly desired

  • Able to read electronic blueprints that deal with fabrication tolerances and parts.

  • Evaluate product quality and make programming adjustments as needed for custom parts production

  • Resourceful, reliable, and independent.
