Job Title: Electronics Assembler/Wirer Job Code: 9898 Job Location: Northampton, MA Job Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off) POSITION SUMMARY: Perform a variety of assembly and wiring operations at various levels of assemblies, working from engineering drawings, schematics and/or wiring diagrams. Examples of assemblies include electrical and microwave circuits, Electro-optical and mechanical systems. Wire previously installed components and subassemblies into main assemblies and perform assembly of components. Perform a variety of harness and cable assembly installations. Must meet eligibility requirements to access US classified information. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Utilize \"Assembly Instructions\", drawings, blueprints and/or schematics to perform bench builds of various wire assemblies Utilize various type cables, harnesses, printed circuit cards (PTH & SMT) and chassis wiring Use various types of potting and epoxy compounds, wiring on or near optics and other assigned work Perform a variety of functions including clamping, checking clearances, crimping, wire dressing, soldering and mechanical assembly of components Maintain appropriate production records Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations Perform other similar and related duties as required or assigned by supervisor QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or Trade School + specialized training 1+ years Familiarity with solder processes and Resistor (IPC) color code Must be able to read and interpret assembly instructions, engineering drawings, blue prints, wiring diagrams and schematics (willing to train the right candidate) 1+ years of Electronic assembly experience or equivalent within the aerospace, defense, medical industry preferred (Ability to become IPC 620 and J Standard Certified) Essential Physical Tasks: Must be able to sit or stand for up to 8-10 hours Ability to lift 30 lbs. and 50 lbs. assisted Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
