Amazon Robotics is looking for an innovative, customer-obsessed Systems Development Engineer to join the Continuous Improvement & Automation team in support of business scaling as they build and deliver the next generation of robots. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes having a hand in the future of robotics and is able to adapt and excel in a highly ambiguous environment. This role requires a unique combination of engineering know how, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication.
You will understand how industrial automation systems work, perform, and scale. You will need software design, analysis and problem analysis skills to develop tools and automation for the manufacturing environment and Hardware/Software Engineering teams in a multitude of process paths.
Key job responsibilities
• We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated techno functional PLM Systems Development Engineer with a proven track record of implementing best in class system and business processes within a complex PLM and Supply Chain environment.
• This role is fast-paced and requires the individual to work cross-functionally with global teams.
• This position will primarily focus on supporting PLM applications in the Hardware Engineering , Supply Chain and Manufacturing areas.
• Strong programming skills using Java, Unix , and WebServices is required.
• Raise the bar with quality code by designing scalable and resilient technical solutions. - This role will work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering and other IT organizations.Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion
• Participate in on call rotation for critical systems/applications related coverage
• Automate software updates across Linux/Windows environments
• Design and maintain automated solutions for testing, alerting and monitoring
• Work with and lead teams comprised of both hardware and software resources developing automation/continuous improvement initiatives identified by stakeholders
• Design experiments to characterize system and component level performance
• Mentor others in technical understanding of systems and applications operations
Basic Qualifications
Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Experience with Linux/Unix
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
Hands on PLM implementation experience with the following module areas required Bills of Material, Supply Chain Planning, Product Compliance and Quality Management.

- Experience with distributed systems at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
