TraceLink, Inc. Software Development Engineer in Test I - Message Processing Framework in North Reading, Massachusetts

TraceLink is seeking skilled software QA engineers to join our growing Message Processing Framework (MPF) team. MPF is the backbone of the Opus platform, allowing Application Developers and Customers the ability to configure and deploy message pipelines. Learn more about Opus here:

When Opus goes live (Spring 2021) MPF will be responsible for sending over 100 million messages every day! The MPF team is a highly collaborative group that utilizes cutting edge cloud-based software engineering technologies to drive solutions. TraceLink's MPF team is an integral part of our pharmaceutical supply chain management services. Ultimately, this service is poised to help solve some of the biggest challenges in the pharmaceutical industry including the mitigation of drug shortages and ensuring drug quality.

Build tooling for automated testing of the TraceLink application. This tooling will need to programmatically interface with the TraceLink application using a variety of B2B messaging protocols as well as both REST-based and SOAP-based web services

Provide architectural input into the test automation infrastructure

Creating and maintaining testing tools that can be configured and used by non-developers

Creating and maintaining testing tools that can simulate real-world transaction volumes involving potentially millions of transactions per day

Provide high-level analysis to apply appropriate technologies and architecture to solve conceptual problems

Research and remain informed of new technology and tools, and how such technologies could be applied at TraceLink

Work closely with engineers building the core TraceLink product to ensure that testability concerns are factored into the design of the product

Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

3 or more years recent experience working in a test automation engineering role involving programmatic interaction with a system under test (as opposed to and/or in addition to UI automation work)

Recent experience using Java, Eclipse, Ant or Maven, Unix, and an automated unit test framework such as TestNG

Experience in developing against web-services and Web-based APIs

Recent experience developing and executing formal test plans, data sets and test configurations for assigned feature areas

Experience testing web-based enterprise-class business applications

Ability to write clearly and concisely

Superior written and oral communication skills

Helpful Skills and Experience

Experience in testing cloud-based applications on platforms such as Amazon Web Services

Experience programming in a functional language (Scala, Ruby, List, etc.)

Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain is a plus

Testing cloud-based applications
