Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer

Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented and ambitious individual with a passion for electronics, mechanics, and product design? Do you enjoy working with state-of-the-art technology and contributing to the development of innovative autonomous drive systems? We're seeking a highly skilled Test and Development Technician to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test autonomous drive systems, including hardware and software components.

  • Work closely with our mechanical engineering team to create and execute test plans, using expertise in mechanical engineering technology and spatial awareness.

  • Perform hardware rework, prototype fabrication, and component testing according to work instructions and procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and debug test systems and automation solutions from a hardware and software perspective.

  • Analyze test results, write test reports, and collaborate with the team to implement improvements.

  • Utilize Solidworks (or similar software) to design and develop new test equipment and components.

  • Manage drive units and sensors, including new unit development and existing unit support.

  • Design and execute tests for various scenarios, including low-light conditions and sensor testing.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical engineering technology

  • Solidworks or similar software

  • Troubleshooting

  • Test plan development

  • Material handling

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Electronics, Mechanics, Product Design, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline; higher degrees preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of consumer electronic devices, electro-mechanical systems, fabrication techniques, shop tools, lab equipment, environmental testing, and component reliability.

  • Familiarity with lab tools, equipment, and processes, including drive units, sensors, and test equipment.

  • Understanding of engineering documentation, including solid models, detailed drawings, manufacturing visual aids, schematics, equipment specifications, test procedures, and SOPs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00
