RFIC / MMIC Lead Design Engineer
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate for the role of RFIC / MMIC Lead Design Engineer in a highly dynamic mixed signal ASIC development team. As a Lead Design Engineer, you will lead an effort to look for opportunities for innovation and integration in our RF instrument system design. You will work closely with design and product leaders developing the next generation of RF and millimeter wave precision test equipment. The Lead Design Engineer is part of our ASIC Development team which is responsible providing strategic differentiation to our product offering and improving Teradyne’s RF design competences. This position requires someone comfortable will all aspects of RFIC and MMIC design and RF module/system design, and who enjoys the challenge of leading integration driven revolutionary innovation across different teams in pursuit of the world’s best RF and mm-Wave test equipment.
Defining, designing and managing RFIC and MMIC development for RF instruments
Working with a project lead, act as technical lead engineer in complex projects, schedule tasks and ensure solid technical execution.
Coordinate system design and integration with instrument design team
Develop technology, architectural specifications and development plans
Deep knowledge of RFIC and MMIC design techniques
Deep understanding in system specification and able to work with system architects to translate system requirement into circuit requirement at IC level
10+ years of working experience in RFIC and MMIC
Master degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis of RF and mm-wave
Demonstrated development successes in RFIC design in particular synthesizers and its subblocks i.e. low phase noise VCO, mixers, phase shifters, gain blocks and amplifiers.
Demonstrated development successes in MMIC in particular designs up to 50 GHz (86+ Ghz is preferred), 3D simulations, substrates, surface mount and microelectronics assembly and methods
A thorough understanding of semiconductor physics and various semiconductor processes especially those related to RFIC and MMIC
Robust knowledge and experience with RFIC and MMIC industry and ecosystem
Expertise in common RF, electromagnetic field solver and high frequency EDA tools (ADS, Cadence, HFSS)
Practical knowledge of RFIC and MMIC characterization and measurement equipment and techniques
Practical knowledge of calibration methods
Location : North Reading, MA (preferred) or Agoura Hills, CA
