Opportunity Overview

Our Product Integration and Verification Group is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Product Verification Engineer with a strong background in test development, product verification, and optical engineering for our new products team located in our North Reading, MA engineering development center. In this role you will be responsible for developing test concepts, custom test hardware and software to verify both the functionality and the performance of our newest leading-edge products in the Silicon Photonics, uLed, and Computing technology space. You will integrate across all development functions to create and execute an efficient and effective product integration and verification plan, and with the product team, bring our new products to the market.

  • Development of automated test concepts and methodologies which will support the accuracy and measurement capabilities needed to verify the functionality and performance of our new instrumentation products.

  • Design verification of new optical instrumentation in the lab and integrated into optical test cells to verify new products meet their target functionality and specifications.

  • Develop and verify instrumentation calibration and test processes to be used by both customers and Teradyne manufacturing.

  • Develop, debug, verification and the release of product verification and production tests and software.

  • Support the transfer of our new products into production.

  • BSEE, BS Optical Engineering , MSEE, or MSCE

  • 5+ years of experience as a design or verification engineer with a focus on Optical engineering and/or Digital instrumentation and product verification. 8+ years preferred.

  • Practical experience in design, assembly, and/or alignment of electro-optical systems with photonics components

  • Strong working knowledge of optical engineering with a mix of design and lab experience.

  • Strong background in object-orientated programming, C/C++/C# is preferred.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques

  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally, able to work with team on shared objectives and work quickly and collaboratively to solve problems and overcome challenges.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate at different levels of abstraction and provide periodic updates to product and project managers.

  • Experience with manufacturing release and customer support is a plus.
