Director of Test Cell Marketing, SOC Semiconductor Test

The Director of Test Cell Marketing, SOC Semiconductor Test, will be responsible for ensuring that the Teradyne ATE solutions meet the increasingly challenging customer needs for full production solutions. The complexity of test cells is increasing with demands for high power computing devices, advanced wireless applications including antenna in package, and the integration of new technologies such as optical interfaces. The industry has always relied on collaboration between equipment manufacturers and consumable suppliers to overcome the challenges, and this ecosystem requires product and relationship management.

This is a high impact role that requires strong collaboration and working with multiple teams – Teradyne sales, marketing, engineering, applications engineering, and operations, as well as the many industry partners providing probers, handlers, interface hardware, software, and consumables. The position requires understanding multiple markets – mobile, computing, automotive, etc. – and working alongside our customers who are small to large international semiconductor companies.

The ideal candidate for this role has ten years or more years of experience in the semiconductor ATE industry, possesses strong business acumen and technical understanding of most of the ATE test cell technologies, including thermal, signal fidelity, and production economics / reliability. An ability to lead strategic efforts and manage near-in plans is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand test trends in SOC markets and establish strategies to ensure alignment of Teradyne solutions to customer timelines, whether through organic product development or collaboration with industry partners

  • Identify synergistic partnerships with other companies, drive those to mutual project plans, and track business results

  • Ensure market share growth by supporting strategic design-in activities, including competitive differentiation and resource trade-offs in the area of test cell development and joint development projects with other companies

  • Create effective collateral for sales to communicate Teradyne’s test cell strategy and differentiation

  • Execute operational product management needs to ensure solutions can be quoted, ordered, manufactured, and delivered through Teradyne’s normal operational processes

    Basic Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • 5+ years of marketing and/or sales experience in semiconductor ATE industry

  • 5+ years of design or applications engineering/management experience in complex production manufacturing equipment

  • Proven and respected track record in the semiconductor industry

  • This position requires a person with very strong leadership, analytical, synthesis and integration skills, with the ability to lead and drive the translation of technology into great business results. This role will require an extensive amount of integrating and visibility across all functions of the business and at all levels.

  • Travel of 20-30% to be expected

    Education:

  • BS, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience

  • MBA preferred, or equivalent managerial experience
