Director, Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary to fill the role of Director, Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this position is responsible for the success of the Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) function of our Information Technology (IT) department. The primary goal is to ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of Teradyne's global technology environment.

As a key member of the senior IT leadership team this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and is responsible for ensuring I&O strategy is fully aligned, positioning I&O to deliver compelling business value.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Direction: Develop and communicate the mission, vision, and strategy of the I&O organization that inspires and motivates team and aligns with the IT and business strategy.

  • IT Resilience: Improve IT resilience by executing strategies that enhance reliability, tolerability, and disaster recovery readiness.

  • Disciplined Execution & Performance Management: Operates a formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and functions performed by I&O teams. Enhance team effectiveness by consistently evaluating the business impact of I&O through the analysis of metrics such as Key Performance Indicators, Outcome-Driven Metrics, and Key Results..

  • Innovation and Competitive Capabilities: Introduce innovative and differentiating infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance overall competitive capabilities and employee productivity.

  • Financial Management: Develop and control the annual I&O budget, ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals and promoting a culture of continuous cost optimization.

  • Collaboration and Governance: Work with the IT leadership team on the service portfolio, governance, prioritization of resources, technical debt remediation, infrastructure modernization, compliance with the security strategy and compliance to enterprise architecture standards.

  • Talent Development: fostering and supporting the talent development of their team, ensuring continuous learning opportunities, skill enhancement, and career growth for each team member.

  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with HR and the IT leadership team to develop and execute workforce plans ensuring I&O can supply skilled resources to meet demand.

  • Desktop Engineering

  • Identity and Access Management

  • IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

    Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience delivering IT services within a large global organization, preferably with a highly technical end user population.

  • Demonstrated delivery of several large, complex IT deployments.

    Knowledge / Skills:

  • Strong customer focus and drive to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and execution skills.

  • Broad understanding of infrastructure technology and technology direction.

  • Ability to build and manage globally distributed teams maximizing the effectiveness of nearshore / offshore resource models.

  • Ability to accurately assess the true cost and value of IT investments.

  • Third-party management, working closely with sourcing and vendor managers.
