Job Description TITLE: Construction Superintendent DEPARTMENT: REM Central, LLC STATUS: Hourly, Non -Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Design & Construction Position Summary Responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing construction efforts at specific work sites, managing assigned projects, providing oversight for field operations and maintaining quality of work by sub-contractors and in-house crew. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of build sites, including leading and managing trade crews on specific construction tasks. Coordinate in-house construction staff. Assist Construction Manager with sub-contractors and material ordering. Excellent understanding of site and building systems. Experience with commercial construction of wood and steel framing. Assist the Construction Manager with developing schedules and construction sequence. Assure that sub-contractors are adhering to the construction documents and are consistently providing high quality work utilizing industry standards. Scheduling of building inspectors. Maintain daily log of job site activities. Responsible for taking deliveries of materials and supplies. Review and approve change order slips. Job Qualifications: Knowledge of building regulations. Perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with OSHA and incorporate our health and safety policies and values. Understands all aspects of the building process and reads blueprints expertly. Experience working with architects, engineers, and public officials. 10-plus years’ experience as construction supervisor. Experience with adhering to tight construction schedules. OSHA-10 required, and Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License preferred. Working knowledge of MS Office Software required. Must have a clean driving record, pass background check, and have dependable transportation.
