Prysmian Group Contract Manager - Boston, MA in North Dighton, Massachusetts

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE

Prysmian Powerlink, a global leader in providing state-of-the-art solutions for High Voltage Underground and Submarine cable links in some of the world’s most challenging environments, seeks a Contract Manager for our Business Unit Projects. The Contract Manager supports the Project Director, Senior Project Manager and Project Manager in addressing all aspects related to the Contracts with the Customer and the Subcontractors during all phases of the projects, with a primary focus on the execution phase. Projects will be located in North America.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and interpreting contractual clauses between the company and its customers and subcontractors;

  • Claims and change-order management;

  • Monitoring with Project Manager all contractual milestones and related payments;

  • Advising the Project Manager on any aspects of project execution which deviate from the requirements of the contracts;

  • Liaising with Corporate Legal department concerning potential serious disputes;

  • Administering all contractual correspondence between customer/Subcontractors and contractor and between joint venture/consortium partners;

  • Establishing milestone completion notices, collecting necessary backup documentation to support invoicing by Finance and control functions;

  • Soliciting and ensuring notification and submission of requests, notices, and documents, subject to strict time limits;

  • Assisting subcontracting/procurement department in managing contract related correspondence;

  • Assisting Legal function in handling of claims and litigation;

  • Availability for frequent business travels, approximately 20% of working time.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in law, business administration, management, or engineering;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with EPCI suite of contracts;

  • Knowledge of and experience in the cable business is preferred.

Minimum Experience :

  • Five years of experience as a Contract Manager or Portfolio Contract Manager;

  • Demonstrated record of delivery on multiple industry related projects across a range of sectors and customers;

  • Demonstrated record in successfully executing multi-disciplined projects;

  • Significant time spent in the negotiation and control of external service suppliers and contractors;

  • Significant experience successfully interfacing with multi-disciplined teams in a technical engineering environment;

  • Delivery of projects with successful adherence to H&S targets in a highly regulated industry;

  • Consistent achievement/ improvement of project financial targets.
