Vibram is looking for someone to manage the certification and customer compliance of the organization's sustainability and corporate responsibility goals. You will work with our customers to identify key components and requirements related to these goals. You will also establish guidelines and policies on a global level, to ensure that the sustainability and social responsibility goals are being obtained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Set requirements and policies for the global supply chain compliance to the relevant regulations and monitor the system with information collection and analysis.
Work with key customers to identify requirements related to sustainability and social responsibility.
Collaborate with the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and ensure local compliance on Sustainability, Restricted Substance List, Corporate Social Responsibility, etc. including policy and procedure execution by all functions and departments.
Research various certifications, indices, or other forms of measuring the organization, brand, or products in relation to customer requests.
Join industry organizations related to topics of focus.
Maintain and build strong communication channels with the relevant customers and other stakeholders.
Organize a list of requests and/or requirements and present recommendations.
Generate multi-functional project plans based on customer and internal requirements and identify task owners.
Author documentation, i.e., policies and procedures to enable certifications surrounding eco-sustainability and social responsibility.
Train various departments globally on new policies to improve social and environmental responsibility.
Generate and manage multi-functional project plans based on customer and internal requirements, while holding global departments accountable for instituting core changes and improvements.
Audit global supply chain to verify compliance of Vibram requirements and policies.
Collect and analyze data from all Vibram locations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of systems.
Work with all relevant teams to obtain approved certifications.
Report status of initiatives to key stakeholders, i.e., customers, Vibram Leadership, Vibram Advisory Board, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree required in an environmentally-related field. Master’s degree preferred.
5 + years of experience in global manufacturing and supply chain management, preferably within the footwear and/or apparel.
Professional experience working to improve the environmental footprint of a business or institution.
Familiarity with carbon credits, carbon accounting, and Product Life Cycle Assessment tools.
Broad knowledge of environmental issues.
Knowledge of certifications related to environmental and social responsibility, i.e., ISO 14001, Higg Index, B Impact Assessment, RCS, GRS, etc.
Ability to lead through influencing within an organization through collaboration rather than the exercise of line authority.
Thoroughness and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Strong team player with a clear understanding of how to communicate and collaborate across cultures and regions.
