Allium Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Technician in North Billerica, Massachusetts

Allium Engineering is transforming our most essential construction materials to massively extend the lifetime of our public infrastructure. Through partnering with some of the world?s largest steel manufacturers, we have developed an advanced cladding technology that integrates directly into existing steel mills. Allium and our steel mill partners are pioneering a new class of corrosion-resistant materials: like our stainless clad rebar that triples the lifetime of a typical bridge. With our first robotic cladding factory coming online this summer and projects planned with partners like the Florida and California Departments of Transportation, we need to grow our core manufacturing team. Come work with us to help keep roads, bridges, and infrastructure everywhere standing strong for hundreds of years

Robotic welder operation

  • Programming the laser welding robot using RobotStudio or similar software
  • Working with engineering team to test and implement improved cladding and machining process to increase safety, quality and throughput
  • Calibrating robot position, monitor welding, and troubleshoot issues
  • Inspecting the finished product to measure dimensions and cladding thickness

Automated machining operation

  • Configuring a semi-automated face milling tool to perform light machining of large (20-40 foot) steel components
  • Monitoring the process to ensure smooth machining
  • Inspecting the machined component to measure and compare against specifications
  • Maintaining the equipment including replacing milling tools

Materials handling

  • Moving large (20-40 ft) steel components weighing up to 5 tons using cranes, industrial rolling stands, and/or forklifts.
