IT Applications Engineer

Works with the manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to design, develop, test and implement software programs and applications. Responsible for application installations, configuration, maintenance, and testing. Provides technical support and expertise to user base and IT team within a regulated environment. Active thought partner who shapes and supports the technology architecture for the manufacturing, supply chain and quality environment.


Architect, design, code, test, debug and document mfg. and quality applications using best practices and industry standards.

Maintain SQL Server performance integrity, security, and availability by monitoring, tuning and improving queries, triggers, and indexing using best practices and industry standards.

Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability.

Design and develop databases based on use cases, business rules, prototyping, data mapping, and data modeling.

Create and generate required SSRS based reports.

Maintain familiarity with evolving technical platforms. Investigate and evaluate technology solutions to make recommendations that maximize time, efficiency and cost.

Responsible for the change management process for applications and systems including impact analysis, documentation of changes, and finally execution and testing.

Collaborate with IT Business Analysts and business partners to design, document, and modify applications and reporting throughout the software lifecycle.

Maintain knowledge of compliance, and ensure all work activities are conducted within the regulatory requirements, related policies and procedures, and corporate objectives.

Responsible for following and executing good development and documentation practices including: testing strategies, testing documentation, security practices, validation testing, architectural and technical decisions

Effectively establishes priorities and shift appropriately based on multiple considerations, and changing demands.

Promote safety rules and awareness. Demonstrate good safety practices at all times including the appropriate use of protective equipment. Report and take initiative to correct safety & environmental hazards.

Actively demonstrate the values of accountability, quality, customer service, efficiency, collaboration and safety.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


BA/BS degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent

3 - 5 years of experience in development, architecture and/or client/server n-tier applications

Knowledge of relevant technology concepts (e.g. Manufacturing and Facility Systems (i.e. BAS, CMMS, Historians, SCADA, MOM and MES), Supply Chain and Logistics Systems

Understanding of relevant regulation concepts (e.g. Computer System Validation (CSV), GxP and GAMP5).

Experience in the following database and programming languages: .NET (VB, C#, and ASP), XML, Dynamic SQL, Microsoft Access.

Experience developing and generating reports using native SQl tools and or 3rd party reporting tools






Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including prioritizing, problem solving and interpersonal relationship building. Communicate and interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers and subject matter experts. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team dynamic across multiple functional organizations.

Experience in the following areas is a bonus:

Experience in ETL using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and data mining for Business Intelligence using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

Troubleshoot and resolve ETL operations and interfaces

Develop integration strategies for new systems.

Non-routine overnight travel based on business need.

After hours or weekend work may be required
