Company in North Billerica is looking for 2 full time Die Cast Setup candidates 1st and 2nd Shifts 1st - 6am -4pm 2nd 3:45pm - 1:45am Summary: Diecast Setup level personnel must consistently demonstrate their ability to make correct decisions based upon machinery capability, shotscope data and die casting knowledge which support company management and goals. Working independently, is capable of setting up and operating die cast dies, mechanical systems and ancillary equipment in both manual and automatic modes as required by production demand or process/router controls. Persons in this position must possess troubleshooting and problem solving skills which allow them to make adjustments or corrections to maintain peak production performance. They must also possess the ability to train new or less skilled employees on demand in all phases of die casting methods and procedures which enables those individuals to meet or exceed production and quality expectations of Pace. Sets and adjusts ladle, sprayer, extractor and shot controls to minimize cycle time and control part quality. Works cooperatively towards problem solving and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement of product quality and productivity in the work environment. Job Functions: Strictly maintains all process control adjustments on die cast machinery without assistance of lead persons or the manufacturing engineering technician. Operates equipment and machinery within shotscope parameters designed to produce acceptable quality levels. Operates production machinery in a safe manner while maintaining established standards of productivity and quality Maintains die component set up material inventories. Checks shot and ladle timing settings to ensure current parameters or process and cycle times are met. Reviews all job associated process and inspection plans before producing parts and recommends set up changes for supervisory review. Regularly assists manufacturing engineering technicians and casting shop management in development of process improvements. Maintains accuracy of job associated paper work and bar coding entries such as time cards, travel cards, container tags, etc. Protects and maintains company tooling and gauges. Performs daily clean up and maintenance in set up equipment area as directed by written or verbal instructions. Skills: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and five years previous die casting experience Ability to read, write and understand the English language in both written and verbal forms. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memo. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform and understand shop math. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must possess the ability to read and interpret blue prints containing geometric dimensioning and tolerances. Required Experience: High Pressure Diecasting Knowledge, Tooling Setup, Mold Maintenance Knowledge, Plastic Injection Molding.
